Current Category Wednesday Nights 7.15 (START) until 10pm (next race meeting 1st September). Slot car racing has been taken in to 21st Century with the invention of Digital racing. 4-6 cars race on a standard 2 two lane track, passing for position with the new 'lane changing' track , pitting for 'fuel' in the pit lane and just trying to stay on the pace and finish first. RULES - Standard 'out of the box' Carrera Digital 132 & 124 slot cars. No upgrades for tyres. motors, brushes etc... Your car goes straight from the box to the track. - Box Standard Cars in ALL 8 classes. Race - Heats over (20/25 laps) 2/3min with (30/50 laps) 3/5min points counting main race(s). DIGITAL 124 season 2009 review. The class everyone loves. Large 1/24 highly detailed cars, fast, heavy and exciting to drive. Each race was made up of four racers & one drone over 3 minutes. 124 Hot Rods. The big bangers on the track. Anthony already had the title with his 11pt lead and only 10 pts on offer for a win. This left the battle for second with who ever finished higher would take second. A great race unfolded with best lap times 1/1000sec apart. All 4 cars on the lead lap before the pit stops. Then Glenn was knocked off by the drone car then Matt half a lap later, but before he pitted. The drone car now named 'Piquet Jnr'. Final standings Anthony 49pts - Glenn 35pts - Matt 31pts. Champion Anthony. Most wins Anthony & Glenn (3 each). 124 Le Mans (Classic). 3 points between the top two (Anthony & Glenn). Anthony took the first race then his performance dropping off for the next two including another DNF left Glenn to win the third race and close into a single point for the feature and last race. Anthony got the jump in the final race and with smart pitting opened up a gap and finished a massive 3 laps up. Glenn was just in the wrong place and the wrong time got stuck behind the drone car but finished second. Final standings Anthony 39pts - Glenn 33pts - Matt 20pts. Champion Anthony. Most wins Anthony & Glenn (3 each). Both 1/24 titles to Motorsport AG well done. DIGITAL 132 season 2009 review. Carrera Digital 1/32 scale highly detailed cars, fast and exciting to drive as each car had it's own characteristics. Each race was made up of six racers & one drone over 3 minutes. Endurance over 5 minutes 132 LMPT (Le Mans). With only 9 points between the top two and 10 points extra for the win it was going to be a classic battle between Glenn & Matt. Anthony shot off into the distance leaving them to fight for the championship. Glenn had a horror start but managed to catch up to Matt due to Matt getting stuck behind the drone car. Then it was Glenns' turn ahead before he too got stuck behind the drone leaving Matt to finish second and take the championship. Final standings (Top 3) Matt 97pts - Anthony 86 Pts - Glenn 83pts. Season check - Champion Matt. Most wins Glenn (3). 132 GT Cup. 2 points between Anthony & Matt. With both rounds held tonight Matt needing only one win you would think it would be that easy. But Glenn wins race 1 as Matt crashed out but still took 2pts. Final round. Advantage Anthony, but he took the 'McLaren' approach to the Championship but driving off the track with no pressure on handing the Championship to Matt. Final standings Matt 37pts - Anthony 32pts - Glenn 30pts. Champion Matt. Most wins Matt (3). Both 1/32 titles to the flying Dutchman well done. What a great first season with classic battles, major crashes, race strategy and the far to common brain fade. The following Drivers made to the top of the rostrum; Shane (3), Russell (3), Tom (2), Brian (2), Stephen (1), Gary (1) , Rob (1) and lastly and perhaps the saddest winner Drone Car (1). DIGITAL season 2010. JAN 2010 - Digital 124 - Hotrods. Defending champion Anthony started off with a win. Other race winners so far were Matt & Glenn. The big 3 locking out the podium thus far. Car damage, broken bodies everywhere due to the Christmas break and a dusty track. New races rules thanks to Glenn. No drone car and of course if you're off you are out. The Hotrod championship is now called GJ Hotrods. After three championship rounds in January the top three are; 21pts Anthony - 19pts Matt - 17pts Glenn. Digital 132 - DTM. Wow the most exciting racing with 10 different body shells to choose from. DTM cars passing around the outside instead of the inside - how does that work? Well you have to come and see. Fuel Tanks set of level 3 ensures pit stop madness. Come off and you lose power for the next race. This championship should go up and down because one nightmare race could make all the difference. Four races and Anthony makes the perfect start to the season winning 4 from 4. Only 9 rounds for each DTM championship and the standings after 4 rounds, top three are; 40pts Anthony - Glenn 30 - Matt 26. Digital 132 - GT. The Porsches were back in force with a full grid. Defending champion Matt finally got going with 2 wins after Anthony won the opening round. More drivers starting next week will make things interesting as it takes 2-3 weeks to learn the track (if you are good). Standings after 3 rounds are; 38pts Matt - 35pts Anthony - 22pts D.C. FEB 2010 - Digital 124 Le Mans (Classic). Matt made the jump to claim the first win of the season. New Racer Tom, extremely quick but unlucky? was unable to secure a race victory but he has the speed to make something happen. Final two races and Anthony was back on top. Races are now 4 minutes so you need to get into your race pace but don't crash otherwise you'll loss power & fuel. Digital 132 - GT. The Porsches were on pace lapping in the low 6's due to a clean track. Blink and you'll miss them. Glenn had a good few rounds and finished on the lead lap but just couldn't claim a victory. Top three after 6 rounds are; 73pts Anthony - 71pts Matt - 48pts Glenn. Fuel loads to be cut to Level 5 next week. Digital 132 - DTM. Wow the mister is here. Six races = Six wins. Even with a tight scoring system Anthony has a 16pt lead with only 4 rounds to go. Fourth place in the Champion is close with 3 drivers only 4 points apart. Matt & Glenn now have more power than Anthony but it's too late to catch the 'Button Man'. MAR 2010 - Digital 124 - Hot Rods. A horror run on a hurry night for the mighty driving God. Anthony losing the top spot with Matt winning 2 from 3 races. Could we see a new 1/24 champion as there is only 3 rounds to go. Standings after SIX rounds are; 43pts Matt - 40pts Anthony - 31pts Glenn. Digital 132 - Le Mans (LMPT). The Audi R10 smashing the Peugeots winning all six rounds. However have the French team found a 'gold nugget' as new driver 'Tom' made an impressive debut. Quick on the track but also quick off the track, straight onto the floor. Matt defending Champion and still the Master of 1/32 took the title with a very impressive 4 wins from 6 races. FINAL standing 220pts Matt - 175pts Glenn - 170pts Anthony. PART II. Digital 132 - GT. The Porsches were back after a break. Anthony's winning streak come to a quick stop as his Porsche (#71) slid across track and into trouble faster than 'Lara Bingle', managing only 24pts from the final 4 races. Glenn came from nowhere to win the first two races of the night then finished second and third to claim second position in the championship. Tom finished off his first GT season with a win. Sneaking past Russell for fifth place. Matt faded away and only made one podium in the final set of four races. Final top six standing; 127pts Anthony (CHAMPION) - 106pts Glenn - 101pts Matt - 90pts D.C - 78pts Tom - 50pts Russell. Digital 124 Le Mans (Classics). New championship started with everyone in a different make car. Anthony as DOUBLE champion forced to switch and went from driving the Ferrari's (#7 & #22) to Ford GT40 (#57). Tom giving up his GT40 #3 and is racing the rare Porsche Carrera 6 #16. As picked by everyone except Tom he was the winner for race one but is 19 laps his limit. Anthony clocked up a nice 22 laps then Matt 21 laps got him onto the podium for race two like Glenn in race one. Two races down and the standings are; 15pts Anthony - 13pts Tom - Matt 9pts - 7pts Glenn - 4pts Russell. PART III. Digital 132 - Le Mans (LMPT). New Championship has started. Anthony leading the Championship however forced to make a switch from Peugeot to Audi after winning the first two rounds has seen his lead crushed. Poor Anthony. After all the that Hay fever and now diabetes. To cheer him up we sent him some flowers and a box of chocolates. Can Matt make it 3 Championships in a row. Only two races to go the top three standings are; 125pts Anthony - 115pts Matt - 110pts Glenn. Digital 124 - Le Mans (LMPT). New Championship for 2010. It's Porsche Vs Audi. These cars are big and heavy you have to spent 4min trying to keep the car on the racing line otherwise they slide all over the place. Matt was the early leader but has now been overtaken by Tom winning 2 of the last three races. Four races to go the top three standings are; 37pts Tom - 35pts Matt - 27pts Anthony. CHAMPIONSHIP ROUNDUP - 1st Quarter 2010. Digital 124. HOT RODS - New 124 Champion and first 124 Championship for Matt. Five wins from 9 races taking the title in style. No drone car for this season made racing a lot more relaxed. Matt only had a one point lead over Anthony with 2 rounds to go. But back to back wins took the title. Final positions for the Top 3 are; 65pts Matt (5 wins) - 51pts Anthony (2 wins) - 50pts Glenn (2 wins). GT1 - There should have been a new Champion here, but Glenn sore his championship lead shrink faster than Lady Ga Ga's balls in Port Philip Bay during winter. In the final race as the song goes 'the winner takes it all' and Anthony made it his second back to back Championship in 124. Final positions for the Top 3 are; 63pts Anthony (4 wins) - 60pts Glenn (3 wins) - 54pts Matt(2 wins). APRIL 2010 - Digital 124 GT1 - New points system for all 124 racing lead to a new Champion for 2010. Glenn after losing the title in the last race of last season makes 2010 the year of the 'Blonde'. He has the fastest car and lead the season from start to end. Final positions for the Top 3 are; 54pts Glenn (4 wins) - 45pts Tom (3 wins) - 39pts Anthony. HOT RODS - Three races into a new season and only 1 point between 4 drivers. One win each for Anthony, Glenn & Russell. All on 15pts. Matt on 14pts with a couple of 2nd places. Side by side starting positions makes the opening laps heart stopping. Tom sent to the back of the grid for one race by taking off Matt. This championship is too close to call. Will Russell take it? Will any cars be left? MAY 2010 - Digital 132 - Le Mans (LMPT). Matt the master of this category makes it three championships in a row, but only just. Three points between himself and Glenn. Glenn the only one driving a Audi has great speed and with two wins was oh so close to the championship. Final positions for the Top 3 are; 180pts Matt (1 win) - 177pts Glenn (2 wins) - 160pts Anthony (2 wins). 132 SUPER GT - New Championship and what a great series. The battle between Anthony & Tom was all season long over 12 races. The scene was set. Anthony winning 4 races, Tom with 4 wins and needing to win the final race. Tom won the race but Anthony finished third and took our second championship of the month by three points. Final positions for the Top 3 are; 76pts Anthony (4 wins) - 73pts Tom (5 wins) - 63pts Glenn (2 wins). Digital 132 - GT. The Porsches (our fav) took battle over 12 rounds and the racing doesn't get any better. Anthony, Matt & Glenn had a ding-dong season, up and down, on and off. Our hottest championship so far. Tom looked like winning the championship until we checked his Porsche. Favio, Favio, Favio is all we can so. The race directors penalized him for the full season. The rules are clear not extra magnets or slims. Final positions for the Top 3 are; 119pts Glenn (3 wins) - 109pts Matt (3 wins) - 106pts Anthony (4 wins). JUNE 2010 - 124 HOT RODS - Yet again only three points between the top two drivers. What a season with Matt & Russell starting off the best racers only to fade away. Glenn made the middle of the season his and Tom finished strong, winning the final two races. Final positions for the Top 3 are; 54pts Glenn (3 wins) - 51pts Tom (3 wins) - 43pts Anthony (2 wins). 124 Le Mans (Classic) - Well if you have been reading the above you would have noted that championships are decided by the slimmest of margins as this was no exception. Only one point as Anthony won a race then Tom won the next and so on and so on for the whole season. Porsche made it to the top of the our best classic championship ever. Final positions for the Top 3 are; 61pts Tom (4 wins) - 60pts Anthony (3 wins) - 49pts Matt (2 wins). 132 SUPER GT - New Championship with 14 cars in a teams championship. Races are over 20 laps and if you stack you have to drive through the pits, costing you a lap. Fuel levels set on level 5. Great mix of cars from Mercedes-McLaren SLR's to Ford Capris'. Anthony driving a less fancied 2009 BMW took 3 from 3 & Matt took two wins from the other two races. The Lap counter let as down. Anthony was dropped to third on the last race because of this issue. This should be an interesting Championship as after three rounds the teams are as follows 46pts - 39pts - 29pts - 18pts - 12pts - 7pts - 5pts. 132 Le Mans (Modern) - Tom in his rocket powered 'Skunk 007' Peugeot was expected to run away with the championship this season but Triple champ Matt and slot car side kick Anthony were the winners of rounds 1 & 2. New Racer Alex took second in the final race of the night, great job. Tom managed to lay more oil on the track then the entire Gulf of Mexico. The Jeanie 'Tea Tree oil' may now have to stay in the bottle. No more wishes. 132 McLaren M20 (CanAm) - New Championship with brand new McLaren M20's. WOW these are "uber" quick with the new cam motor. These cars will smash the lap record when they are run in. Three races were held. Three wins for Anthony, something we all had to get use too during the night. These two minute races will be held at the end of each 132 night because nothing compares to the insane speed these cars offer. NB: Nice to see all the different 'custom' livery's. Standings after 3 rounds; 30pts Anthony - 13pts Tom - 12pts Glenn (The Bronze Finger) - 10pts - Russell - 10pts Russell. CHAMPIONSHIP ROUNDUP - 2nd Quarter 2010. JULY 2010 - 124 NIGHT. JULY 2010 - 132 NIGHT. 132 Le Mans (Modern) - Despite Matt leading all the way so far it's still an open season as no one has managed to put a championship run together. With only two rounds to go the next race might be interesting as both Anthony & Glenn require a 'must win' race to keep their title hope alive. The Top three standings after 4 rounds; 120pts Matt - 94pts - Glenn - 92pts Anthony. 132 CanAm - New 'mad/sic' Championship. These FF motors are insane. Anthony who looked like running away with the title hasn't won since round three. Glenn & Tom have won three races since. In the final race of the night Anthony managed to put Britney in the fence or did he? Very hard to purposely take someone off on the exit of the corner on the same lane. However he took the penalty making for a close finish in this championship. The Top three standings after 9 rounds; 58pts Anthony - 54pts - Glenn - 54pts Tom. AUGUST 2010 - 132 NIGHT. 132 SUPER GT - 12 cars over 12 rounds. Two seasons run back to back. Anthony won 8 from 9 races in a car that should have easily been beaten as he was racing a season old BMW against the Mercedes-McLarens'. The Drone car caught the Merc Team as they were too busy looking behind them rather than in front. All drivers racing the same pair of cars will have to select difference cars for the next season. This should be interesting. 132 McLaren M20 (CanAm) - Our second season with these big bangers. Glenn (Champion) who won the last four races from last season never won a race this entire season. After six races it was two wins each to; Anthony, Tom & Matt. One won could emerge on top and it was Matt even had in the final race to set a racing lap time of 7.184s. FINAL standings after 12 rounds; 83pts Matt - 77pts Tom - 62pts Anthony - 46pts Glenn - 32pts Alex - 12pts Russell. AUGUST 2010 - 124 NIGHT. 124 HOT RODS - This season ended up a bit a of walk in the canal for Matt. Matt starting off the best racer with three wins in a row. Tom missing these rounds came back and finished strong, winning half the final races. But Matt didn't loose his head (unlike his car driver) and ended up with more points in those races than Tom (36pts Matt - 35pts Tom). The Final positions are; 63pts Matt (5 wins) - 40pts Glenn (1 win) - 38pts Tom (3 wins) - 38pts Anthony - 25pts Alex - 21 Russell. AUGUST 2010 - 132 NIGHT. 132 McLaren M20 (CanAm) - Another night and another Championship with these McLaren M20's. Started off with the banning of the Porsche 917. This car has a huge unfair advantage with the rear 'oversized' tyres and it won its first race and so was black listed immediately. Its a shame but any unfair advantage means that it is unfair. Alex finally won a race but he didn't stop there. He nailed 4 wins and third place in the championship. Anthony's M20 clip let go and he was off all night. Glenn's longest run of podium finishes of 12 races came to a end. Tom wasn't happy. So we are on the look-out for Mr.Happy socks to cheer him up. Hawkman took the title, he is clearly back inform returning to his glory day era. The Final standings after 12 rounds; 52pts Matt (5 wins) - 48pts - Glenn (2 wins) - 43pts Alex (4 wins) - 29pts Anthony (1 win) - 18pts Tom - 2pts Russell. PROFILE & UPDATES. Can match the lap time speed of the drivers above him in all classes. Favorite Car Porsche GT3 Ranking - B. ALEX #6 - A new winner at the club. It's been months since our last new winner, many have come and gone or just given up. Now he has 4 Race Wins all in the M20 master class. (132 - 4 WINS) & (124 - 0 WINS). Nice cars, run in and balanced and a fast growing collection, even has a spare "T" car for some classes. He has the speed but in order to win a 20 lap race he has to do 20 laps as Murray Walker would say. Favorite Car Porsche GT3 Ranking - B. DAVID - No wins, thank goodness. Often referred as the drone car, well there might be a good reason for that. The only 'STIG' driver we have as he never gets out of Top Gear. Always there in a car that seems to get wider every race.
