CAR1 - 1967 Eagle-Westlake Formula 1 - Gurney #5 The most beautiful Formula 1 car of all time-Dan Gurney's AAR Eagle V-12. 1967 Brands Hatch Race of Champions Winner #5 Dan Gurney-Eagle/Gurney-Weslake V-12. This version lacks the cooling slots in the nose for the shock absorbers which were a later feature. As late as the Seventies, there were a number of non-championship events filling the calendar which allowed F2 (and later F5000 or FA) cars to complete the grid. "Brands" is a challenging course east of London. The 1967 London Daily Mail-sponsored event featured the entire F1 circus, with the exception of Lotus, because Lotus failed to reach an agreement with the Mail over starting money. Gurney took the pole and all three heats to score the first win for the Eagle V-12.
